Description

The FAIS Ombud Graduate Recruitment Programme is a structured 12-month graduate programme designed to develop competent trainee entrants into the labour market. Successful candidates will work under dedicated mentors within the Case Management/Adjudication Department and receive competency-based training in dispute resolution, stakeholder engagement, case evaluation, and adjudication processes within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate fair negotiations and settlements in dispute resolution
  • Engage respectfully with stakeholders involved in cases
  • Analyse evidence and arguments objectively during case evaluation
  • Adjudicate cases efficiently and manage workload effectively
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of case information
  • Ensure fairness, impartiality, and ethical decision-making
  • Communicate rulings and legal concepts clearly
  • Participate in mentorship and competency-based training programmes

Qualifications

  • South African citizen with a valid South African ID document LLB degree
  • PLT (Practical Legal Training) will be an advantage
  • Strong academic background
  • Passion for public service and interest in the financial sector
  • Computer literate
  • Able to work in a stressful environment and willing to work extra hours
  • Energetic, self-driven, and deadline-driven
